Federal Coffee Company, one of the pioneers of 3rd generation coffee production in Turkey, works with a business plan that will protect the quality of each coffee bean from its supply to its presentation.

 

In order to search for the best quality coffee beans and to provide customers with more options, the beans that come from the farms are roasted after taste analyzes in Federal Coffee Company's own factory with the understanding of "microlot roasting".

 

Federal Coffee Company does its own analysis and tasting after each roasting, in order to make the quality coffee concept sustainable. Federal, which distributes coffee domestically and abroad after packaging, emphasizes the importance of each second from roasting and brewing stages to its presentation.

 

They describe their coffee as "coffee in a race against time".

 

Federal uses 100% Arabica coffee beans with a tasting score above a certain level. In addition to the climatic conditions and soil characteristics in which it is grown, Federal makes sure to use the most qualified green beans in the collection, drying and washing stages.

MICRO ROASTING

The roasting machine used in the Federal roasting facility is a tailor-made double boiler with a 40kg roasting capacity, which does hot air roasting.

 

Roasting is a process in which the aroma components in the green coffee beans are released, and therefore, every second of it is of particular importance. That’s why, Federal roasts coffee with "micro roasting" method.

 

The green beans are handled with care, analyzed according to its region, the soil where it grows and the way it is cultivated, and it is roasted in such a way that the sugar and natural flavors in it are best revealed, taking into account its natural characteristics. Each bean is roasted according to the profiles developed for it, and since a system according to ordering flow is established, it is ensured that the customers always consume fresh coffee. Federal Coffee never does stock roasters.

 

 

 

In addition to the standard green beans, GrainPro beans from micro-lot and organic production certified farms are roasted 4 days a week at the Federal production facility. Single origin coffees are roasted separately, because they all have different roasting time and heat balances.

 

Roasted coffee beans have a breathing and resting period. The coffee beans are rested in special boxes right after they are roasted and then filled into packages. The valves in Federal packages is particularly designed to prevent the accumulation of carbon monoxide inside the package.

 

The consumption life recommended by Federal is 28 days. This recommended period in retail is the basic selling rule in wholesale. No customer is provided with the amount of coffee they cannot consume in 28 days. Since coffee has a living and breathing structure even after roasting, it starts to lose its natural aroma after 28 days as it is affected by factors such as humidity, odor and heat in the environment.
